Physical Forms – Due ASAP
There are many players who have not handed in their physical forms and/or their updated parent consent forms. If these forms are not completed, players will not be able to participate beginning the start of the official practice season on August 14, 2009. This is inclusive of incoming freshmen. Please complete and return all documents to the nurse at Steinert High School. If you are not sure of your child’s status, you may call the nurse at 631-4150 x 5. The nurse will return your call promptly as to the status. If you have a scheduling problem with your physician for a physical, the school will be doing physicals. Please call the school nurse for an appointment. All required forms can be found under the “Forms” tab at www.steinertfootball.com/forms.html.

Attention Football Players:
The weightroom will be open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday (12/29, 12/31, and 1/2) for all football players. On Monday the weightroom will be open at 7 am, on Wednesday and Friday at 9 am.
There will also be a mandatory meeting for all football players after school on January 5th at 2:45 in the auditorium (if you are participating in a winter sport and it conflicts with this meeting you are excused). The purpose of this meeting is to cover the offseason lifting and conditioning program and the policies pertaining to it. If a player cannot make the meeting, he or she must see or call me. Those not in attendance will be assumed not interested in playing football next season.

College Night @ TCA |

College Night @ Trenton Catholic Academy (TCA)
On Monday December 8th at 7 pm, TCA will host a College Night for Seniors. There will be approximately 30 College recruiters from D3, D2, and D1-AA. It will be held in the cafeteria which is located below the gym. It is for High School Seniors, but Juniors have attended in the past and may so again if they choose for informational purposes only. However, college recruiters are not permitted to speak with Juniors at this point in time.

Football Players are the responsibility of the Coach. All players are to report to practice daily. If a player is unable to make practice, the Coach must be informed with the reason of their excused absence. If a player does not inform the Coach and is a no-show for practice, a telephone call will be made.

In order for the throwback jerseys to be purchased by the Trenton Times, a roster with uniform numbers has to be put together by the end of July. I am in the process of putting together this roster and assigning numbers. Please remind the players to see me by Friday to pick which number they will wear this coming year. I have the majority of the upper classmen, but very few lower classmen. It is imperative that the players come to the weight room on Wednesday or Friday night and reserve a number or they will not have a jersey come Thanksgiving Day.
Also, the weight room will definitely be open from now on. The last few days we have been locked out of the school. This will not happen again. Back to our normal schedule of Monday, Wednesday, Friday.
Lastly, the player coach softball game that was scheduled for this Thursday the 24th has been postponed to next Thursday the 31st. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Wednesday's 7on7 practice and weightroom has been moved to thursday July 3rd. 7on7 practice 5-6, weightroom 6-8. The Sunshine football classic is Wednesday night and we have a player participating in the game (Corey Johnson) that everyone would like to go support. We as coaches also feel it is important to give the players the opportunity to go see a good football game.
Also, the July schedule is now available in the links to the left . Please check it daily as there are still a few things forthcoming.
